100% vs Permanent and Total (P&T)

They're not the same thing. 100% means totally disabling (by combined rating or TDIU). Permanent means VA doesn't expect it to improve, so it's static with no scheduled future exams. P&T = both.

No more re-exams for that condition.
CHAMPVA health coverage for your dependents.
Chapter 35 (DEA) education benefits for a spouse and children.
Many state benefits (property-tax relief, tuition, and more).

You can be 100% without being P&T. Look for "Permanent and Total," "no future exams scheduled," or a Chapter 35 eligibility note on your decision letter.
